Nokia is the world's largest manufacturer of mobile devices and a leader in mobile network equipment, solutions, and services. The company offers consumers a wide range of mobile devices, and is increasingly providing them with experiences in music, navigation, video, TV, imaging, games, and business mobility through these devices. Nokia also provides equipment, solutions, and services for network operators, service providers, and corporations. Nokia is organised into three business groups: Mobile Phones; Multimedia; and, Enterprise Solutions. Meanwhile, Nokia Siemens Networks, a combination of Nokia’s previous networks business and Siemens’ former carrier-related operations for fixed and mobile networks, commenced operations on April 1, 2007. The company has been fully consolidated by Nokia since that time. Nokia Siemens Networks is now one of the largest telecommunications infrastructure companies in the world, with operations in 150 countries. As of February 16, 2007, The Capital Group Companies Inc and its subsidiaries held through their clients a total of 410,577,704 shares, which at that time corresponded to approximately 10.03% of the share capital of Nokia. As of September 30, 2007, Nokia and its subsidiary companies owned 101,992,828 Nokia shares, representing approximately 2.6 % of the total number of Nokia shares (3,935,542,025) and the total voting rights. Nokia's shares are traded on the Helsinki, Frankfurt, and New York stock exchanges. Fredrik Idestam, a local mining engineer, established Nokia AB as a forestry enterprise located in South-Western Finland in 1865. Nokia Corp was subsequently formed through the merger of this business, along with Finnish Cable Works and Finnish Rubber Works in 1967.
