PCCW Limited is the largest provider of communications services in Hong Kong and one of Asia's leading players in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). The principal activities of the company and its subsidiaries are the provision of local, mobile and international telecommunications services, Internet and interactive multimedia services, the sale and rental of telecommunications equipment, and the provision of computer, engineering and other technical services, mainly in Hong Kong; investment in, and development of, systems integration and technology-related businesses; and investment in, and development of, infrastructure and properties in Hong Kong and elsewhere in mainland China. Beyond Hong Kong and mainland China, PCCW has operations in the UK, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Macau, Singapore and the US. PCCW is listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong with an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) trading on the Pink Sheets' OTC Market in the US. As of year-end 2006, the company's leading shareholders were: Pacific Century Regional Developments Ltd (PCRD), a company controlled by Richard Li, PCCW's Chairman, with a 22.62% stake; and, China Network Communications Group (China Netcom) with a 19.90% interest. Through other companies and interests, Richard Li's personal stake in PCCW rose to 28.01% as of April 2007.
